Environmental Site Assessments/Due Diligence

EC4 smThe USEPA now lists tens of thousands of sites that contain a variety of hazardous wastes ranging from radioactive heavy metals to chlorinated solvents. To manage these sites, Congress passed the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), also known as Superfund, in 1980. Many individual states have also recognized the need to enact legislation to manage hazardous or potentially hazardous waste sites. Good examples are the Environmental Cleanup Responsibility Act (ECRA) of 1983 and the Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA) of 1993, which were enacted by the State of New Jersey.

Performing surface or subsurface investigations of contaminated sites is critical to the determination of Potential Responsible Parties (PRPs), the identification of risks associated with the presence of contamination and the delineation of a remedial action plan. If contamination is suspected, all property subject to sale should be tested. Omni Environmental personnel are experienced in performing surface and subsurface investigations and selecting remedial options for contaminated water and/or soils.

Omni has extensive experience with environmental site assessments (ESAs), and provides a full range of services related to environmental due diligence, including Phase I and Phase II site assessments, liability transfer, remediation services, hazardous materials assessment and handling, and support to navigate a labyrinth of long-standing and newly-established legislation. We are experts at delivering effective, innovative, and cost-effective remediation solutions for a wide variety of site cleanups. Omni is solution oriented, and we strive to enable our clients to achieve their goals in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible.

Investigation services may include on-site reconnaissance, interview(s) of those familiar with site use and history, inquiries of all appropriate agencies and sources of relevant information, and collection of data/reports from third party services that research and compile relevant data. Omni identifies any potential areas of concern, such as underground storage tanks, aboveground storage tanks, hazardous material storage, or hazardous waste production, and makes recommendations for eliminating those concerns.
