Recognition Awards

Many organizations and entities have recognized Omni Environmental and its staff for the exceptional quality of our work and commitment to the professional community as well as the well-being of the community around us.

A brief sampling of some of our more recent honors includes:

Omni Environmental was named to the Zweig Letter 2011 Hot Firm List, which recognizes growth and performance among firms in the architecture, engineering and environmental consulting industry in the United State and Canada. Zweig White, publisher of the Zweig Letter, compiles the list by evaluating companies over a three-year period. Omni's inclusion on the 2011 Hot Firm List is a result of revenue growth from 2007 to 2010. Zweig White is a widely recognized business management services advisor to the architecture, engineering and environmental consulting industry.

Jim Cosgrove received the Peter Homack Award for 2011, honoring his outstanding contributions toward a multidisciplinary understanding and management of water resources in New Jersey, from the New Jersey Chapter of the American Water Resources Association. Jim also received the Leadership Service Award from the Association of Environmental Authorities in 2011, after serving six years on the Board of Directors.

In May 2011, Ray Ferrara was awarded the Joan Hodges Queneau Palladium Medal for 2010 by the American Association of Engineering Societies. Its recipient is an individual who encourages cooperation between engineering professionals and environmentalists to create innovative solutions to environmental problems.

The New Jersey Water Environment Association honored Tom Amidon at their annual conference in May 2011 for Outstanding Service to the Conference Program Committee.

The Village Elementary School Courtyard Rain Gardens Project, on which Omni led a collaborative effort among county, municipal, consulting, and academic participants, received the New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects' 2011 Environmental Enhancement Award.

The project also earned recognition from the New Jersey Section American Water Resources Association, winning the 2010 Excellence in Water Resources Protection and Planning Award.

Gopi Jaligama and Marcelo Cerucci were honored with the 2010 Wesley W. Horner Award by the American Society of Civil Engineers' Environmental & Water Resources Institutein recognition of their paper "Hydrologic and Water Quality Integration Tool: HydroWAMIT."

Omni Environmental was bestowed the 2008 Conference Excellence Award by the New Jersey Water Environment Association.

The Somerset County Planning Board awarded Omni Environmental the Annual Land Development and Planning Award for 2005for our Stormwater Management Retrofit at Otto Kaufman Community Center, a project designed by Omni and installed by volunteers from Omni during the Earth Day Fair that was being held inside the Center.
